MANIFEST: The Storms of Summer Poetry Slam

After the success of May’s themed poetry slam, the monthly MANIFEST showcase at the Camp House (1427 Williams St.) returns with an open slam on July 8th. Unlike the last slam, which centered on the theme of love, this one has no central topic.

Each participating poet will have three minutes and ten seconds to perform his or her original poem. If the poet goes beyond the allotted time, he or she will be penalized. After each performance, the judges will assign scores ranging from 0 to 10. At the end of the night, the poet with the highest score will walk away with a cash prize.

Poets can sign-up on site starting at 8 PM. The show will begin at 9 with a 30-minute open-mic, followed by the slam. Admission is $5 for participating poets and $8 for general admission. Once again, Christian J. Collier will be the slam master for the event.
