FREE STUFF

We’ve been campaigning for MANIFEST IV: Love & Other Struggles for a little while now, and we’ve been having a great time with it. I wanted to take some time out and give you lovely people the opportunity to check out DJ Flannel Boy, who’ll be holding us down musically on February 11th. You can download 2 free mixes that Brother Flannel hooked up. If you like what you hear, you know where he’ll be in February. Enjoy!

She

So, at Strange Bedfellows 2 (which was a great success), I had the distinct honor and privilege of performing with a beautiful young woman named Jessica Kitchens. She accompanied me on the sitar, and she did her thing. Here’s a video of the two of us performing She.

MANIFEST IV: Love & Other Struggles

Hola Everybody,

Once again, I want to thank everyone who came to MANIFEST III on the 14th. I’m still abuzz from the great vibe and talent. It’s a tremendous feeling.

I wanted to go ahead and throw the flyer up here for everybody for the next MANIFEST. I’m really excited about the line-up and the show. I had the opportunity to talk to Brandi Bridgeforth earlier tonight, and she, too, is excited. She says that her set is dangerously close to being ready, which is ALWAYS good to hear. Also, I watched DJ Flannel Boy do his thing last night, and the man is solid. I hope that you come to MANIFEST IV ready to move your backside and get your dance on in addition to hearing some of my poetic comrades. We’re trying to hit mind, body, and soul.

So, tell a friend to come on down to the Camp House. If you have any questions or would like further info on MANIFEST, The Speakeasy, Strange Bedfellows, or anything else I’m a part of, e-mail thespeakeasypoetry@gmail.com.

MANIFEST III Wrap-Up

I want to thank everyone who came out to MANIFEST 3 this past Friday night. We had our biggest crowd yet, so it was very affirming. The band, The Undoctored Originals, absolutely KILLED it. The visual artists got down, too. The vibe was great and it seemed like everyone who made it out and hung around had a fantastic time, which is what I always go for.

If you didn’t make it out (or even if you did), I've included some pictures by my ever-talented friend Mr. Tolan Bistrek. He’s been holding us down at events with his camera, and I can’t express how much I appreciate it.

MANIFEST!!!

MANIFEST III takes place next Friday. I’m really looking forward to it. Just to refresh your memories, there’s going to be live art by Kristen Rogers, Whitney Nave-Jones, and Jody Harris. The Undoctored Originals are holding us down musically, and there aren’t enough positive things that I can say about them. If you like jazz in any capacity, you’ll be hard-pressed not to like the band. Plus, they’ll have some special guests on hand (more than likely including yours truly), so we’ll have to see what happens.

Also, February’s MANIFEST will be a love themed show. You’re going to get to witness some of my most talented poetic friends and I get down, and I’ve got something special lined up musically. I’m not going to let the cat out the bag just yet on who it is. However, if you’d like to go ahead and mark your calendars, MANIFEST IV will be taking place on February 11th. Bring your girlfriend, boyfriend, someone you plan to mack on, someone you have problems with (we’ll help you solve them. Trust), etc. It’s going to be a good way to spend some quality time.

Blessings
