March Madness

Hey folks,

A lot’s happened since I last posted (I’ve been busy, what can I say?). I’ll dive in and update you good peeps on what’s been shaking out.

First, The Speakeasy will NO LONGER be at The Office. Everyone’s been asking about what happened, and, you can rest assured that the details will be emerging. I want to let you all know that The Speakeasy is still very much in tact. You can expect to see a number of us performing in some upcoming shows. Also, the open-mic will be coming back at a new venue in the near future.

Second, tonight will be our second MANIFEST event for March. Last night’s show with Darren Johnson and Ryan Oyer was great. Both Ryan and Darren put on clinics on why they are who they are. As a special bonus, L-Poole and Marcus Ellsworth performed a few poems as well.

I’m very confident that tonight’s show will be equally amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing (there’s going to be a grand visual component) and hearing what our two acts break out.

By the way, we have MANIFEST t-shirts available. I picked them up yesterday and they look really good. I’m very satisfied. If you’re interested in purchasing one, they are $12 each.

On Tuesday, March 15th, I’ll be performing at Chattitup, which is the baby of Allied Arts. It’s an open-mic where the participants have the opportunity to perform for two minutes and showcase what they do. You can get the details off the picture below.

I have a new poem called Passage. I premiered it at Speakeasy on the 9th, and it’s the hardest poem that I’ve ever personally performed. I might try to record it in the near future. If that happens, I’ll gladly throw the link up on here so you good people can check it out for yourselves.

Speaking of audio, we recorded the MANIFEST Love & Other Struggles show. In addition to that, I just received some mp3s of Marcus Ellsworth and me performing with The Undoctored Originals. I plan to throw all the tracks onto cds and distribute them for free at our events. Let me know what you think of the idea.

So, a good friend of mine named Lynn Buckner has a publication called DEBACLE. It debuted around Halloween, and the DEBACLE crew is currently accepting submissions for the new issue. The deadline is March 31st, which will be here before you know it. Here’s some info on DEBACLE:
